Linking Different Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) via Food Production Diversity: A Comparative Study of Two Countries in Arabian Desert

There is a growing interest of the linkages between different SDGs as interactions are more and observed. Food production diversity’s role in linking deserves attention, it directly related to variety such SDG 1 (poverty reduction), 2 (no hunger), 8 (economic growth decent work). This article empirically examines food diversity Saudi Arabia Oman with Herfindal-Hirschmann Index, which measures via distribution establishments employees across 14 economic activities. It finds that Arabia, significantly lower less changed than Oman. However, this may be caused by much larger scale also possibly associated cuisine culture, geographic location, labor intensity production. there insufficient evidence whether severe climate has an impact on diversity.
